Myself and Lailah Kara-Newton started Aster with a simple set of ideas. Could we make the act of delivering care far more enjoyable, far more manageable and ultimately far safer for the patients and families on the receiving end. 

In pursuit of this continued mission, we’re delighted to share a major milestone for Aster; we’ve been acquired by Elation.

Elation began with a radical idea: could they build a clinical-first EHR to power the front door of healthcare, primary care. During our time building Aster, we’ve been inspired by Elation’s commitment to their customers and design of a truly clinically aware platform. Twenty-four million patients served and forty-five thousand  providers supported, we’re sure that radical idea has been achieved and we’re excited to continue this, through our shared partnership. 

For women’s health in particular we’ve understood primary care, with its holistic and long-term relational aspect as key to supporting women and families through major life transitions such as pregnancy, postpartum and everything in-between. This acquisition marks a logical connection recognizing that these are not separate endeavors, but two phases of the same commitment: to meet women and families where they are, know them fully, and walk with them through every chapter of their health.

As we began at Aster, we also know that AI will play and continue to play a defining role in how care is delivered, not replacing the relationship between patient and provider but actually enabling them to be more connected and more human. I’m excited to join Elation and continue delivering this.

Joining this next chapter, will be myself, Lailah & Nacho - my partners on this journey. Unbelievably grateful for our team, a time is being had.
